Networking Mummies UK: Business Awards

Posted on

Earlier this year, you may remember that I was a finalist in the Networking Mummies UK Recognition Business Awards in the New Business category! This was such a huge achievement for me – it has been an incredibly tough year trying to get my business of the ground with limited time and budget, whilst juggling the home, children and all their commitments - a challenge that every business mum will empathise with!

As if the honour of being a finalist was not enough, I was invited to the awards dinner at Aston Villa last Saturday to share the evening with the other finalists and guests. I have to say, I am kind of getting used to being the “plus one” at these sort of events, so it was all a bit surreal.

on our way to the nmawards 2016

I was quite thankful that my category was up first, which meant that once the worry about the possibility of having to make a speech was over, I was able to chill out and have a few glasses of wine.

Now you may think I am being a bit biased here, and others from the evening may disagree with me, but I definitely think I was at the best table! We laughed, we cried and we shared our stories. All in all, it was a fabulous night – so many inspirational women, great venue, fantastic food and amazing company. All that is left to say is a huge thank-you and congratulations to Laura and Stacey of Networking Mummies for organising a memorable event, and I hope that a lot of funds and awareness were raised for Meningitis Now!

Very proud of my 'niece by marriage'. Well done Debbie. You are a lovely networking mummy and I know Chris, Caitlin and Peter agree with me. Love from Ros.x
